London Calling

I love fall. The cinamonny smell and crinkling leaves. The chilling weather nice enough for just a light jacket and the rapid approaching Halloween (I am convinced that I will keep dressing up on the 31st until I die). It's also the first time in 12 years that Friday the Thirteenth is in October (cue the gruesome image of Freddy Crueger or black cats knocking over salt shakers under ladders, take your pick) which I think is pretty cool. Now to music:

Paging Captain Sensible! A gear (thank you to Ringo Starr for that tid of terminology) new album to check out is The Damned's Noise Noise Noise Box Set (used to be available only in the UK but downloads are now available in America) which has five disks full of live, raw 70's punk. The Damned are the lesser known but just as sick band of the same generation and scene as the Clash and the Misfits. And after all of these years, they're STILL touring the USA and the UK. How fashionable! Check them out (my favorite single is "Neat, Neat, Neat" but you may like "New Rose") at www.thedamned.com

Okay, saw The Illusionist with Edward Norton this weekend (he's starring in the movie, I didn't go to see it with him. Sigh) and I can do nothing but applaud. It's the kind of movie that you can only see once because you can only feel the full emotional picture the first time. So fantastic. Prepare to feel stupid though because once you understand the movie, the credits will be rolling. It's very clever. (And yes, when I went to see the movie, an angry elderly citizen yelled at my friends and I for crinkling our bag of Skittles. And no, I am NOT sorry for crinkling because we had every right to crinkle when we wished to crinkle!!)

Anywho,

The Information countdown: 3 hours 39 minutes and a couple of seconds until the new Beck album comes out. I'm not that obsessive, not really, but it's been more than a year since Guerolito and I'm starvin' for some of that Bek Hansen electro-alternative!

After a nice long weekend of Seinfeld reruns, Borders runs, and coffee runs I return to school tomorrow so I must be nodding off soon. I will depart, though, with one final goodbye:

This is Ben Lee music video is called "Catch My Disease" and although I hated the song at first, I must give my sister credit for turning me on to the adorable Aussie's sound.

And yes, I can totally relate. My head IS a box full of nothing, but that's the way I like it.

Adieu, adieu, parting is such sweet sorrow,

Kit

Lmao Cat- she might have been yelling at you for crinkling your skittles (which was hilarious because you somehow got louder every time) but you weren't the one that had her chair pulled all the way back so you could have the lady whisper very violently in your ear to tell your friends to shut up! It was so funny, she like launched me backwards and let go. It made my life. hah.

Um, for the anonymous comment above Beck's full name is Bek David Campbell but when his parents divorced he took his mother's last name (Hansen) thus becoming Bek Hansen. Duh.

Okay, I hate to do this, but I gotta bail on the Dylan review. I've been trying to write a kick-ass review but the CD, which really is damn awesome, is uninspiring. I can't analyze the awesomeness, I just have to enjoy it!

    Sorry.

    love
