Is This It

Hey party people. I've been gone for awhile, you know that pesky little thing called SCHOOL, but now that I'm back (at least for a brief period in time) I just want to share a few things with you:

So everyone knows the VMA's were the other night, MTV's hip hop and pop rock saturated video awards. OF COURSE you know the main event was not JT's Sexyback, not the Racounteurs (as much as they were good), not Lil Jon's screaming/mumbling (I still have no idea what he said), but OK GO on treadmills LIVE!!! Fantastic stuff.

A shocker for anyone who knows me and my musical taste- I actually like one of the tracks off of Joshua Bell's new album (Voice of the Violin). This is more shocking to me than anyone else because usually classical music sucks. It's called "Songs Without Words, Op. 62, No. 1: May Breezes" and trust me right now when I say you'll probably hate it.

As for a single you have got to check out or else die- the Stroke's "You Only Live Once". This catchy lyrical track is one of greatest off of the Stroke's January release of "First Impressions of Earth" album. Don't believe the hype; what Itunes says isn't always neccesarily true. Take, for instance, the bashing of this fantastic record in an unforgiving beat down. It is my belief that one or two traffic stopping tracks can make a whole album great, and with "Juice Box", "You Only Live Once", and "Evening Sun", three solid songs, I still believe in the Strokes. As for the video of "You Only Live Once", it's two parts sensational, one part sexy, and another part sad. No, I don't want to see the Strokes drowning in a locked room full of black water but do I mind if they look hot doing it? Not at all. Check it out for yourself above.

More later,

Kit

P.S. I love Fab. :)

P.P.S. Listening to: I've Seen All Good People by Yes. Yeahhhh.

P.P.P.S. Oh and just so you all know, I was into Snow Patrol waaay before "Chasing Cars". I was into them in their "Chocolate" phase, so don't even THINK about it. Did you know that Richard the drummer in Belle and Sebastian used to also be Snow Patrol?

Cute video..but it did seem very Avril-esque with the stuff coming out from the walls.

I would love to do a guest review! I absolutely adore your blog.
Unfortunately I bought the Bob Dylan CD for my dad's birthday, which is on the 17th, so I can't open it until then, but then I would love to send you a review.

I love Snow Patrol, and OK Go rules! I pretty much only downloaded their video because of their treadmill dance hehe! The Strokes rule, too. My favourite songs have to be Razor Blade, Juicebox and Heart in a Cage.
