We Don't Need No Education

Okay, Pt. 1 of math final....COMPLETED! What a tremendous relief!

Okay, here's my list of summery music and summery titled music:

SUMMA SUMMER (like 'some of' summer? get it? huh? my comedic talent is wasted here...)

1. The Way We Get By by Spoon (describing a crazy summer, it sounds. i just like it, OKAY?)

2. Big Sur by the Thrills (a summery sounding song)

3. Stretching for Summer by Jimmy McDonald (uh...duh. SCHOOL!!!)

4. anything done by Jason Mraz (his songs capture the essence of summer. the remedy? wordplay? sha.)

4.5 OCean Avenue by Yellowcard (only counts as half due to it's overpopularity and playing on the radio)

5. Too Young by Pheonix (can't you just picture sitting on a car with your ipod in the summer to this song?)

6. Summer in the City by Lovin Spoonful (okay so lots of groove + lyrics about freedom = summer, no?)

7. School's Out by Alice Cooper (can i get a 'h3ll yes?')

8. The Boys of Summer and In This Diary covers by the Ataris (classics with a bit more edge)

9. Beautiful Day by U2 (i thought this one was a given...)

10. We Be Jammin' by Bob Marley (reggae? regea? regge?)

11. Summer Breeze by Seals and Crofts (i used to listen to this over and over on a cassete with "Red Rubber Ball" by the Cyrcle)

12. Rockaway Beach by the Ramones (i find that the ramones have a song for everything...)

13. Miami by Will Smith (okay this was one of my favorites when I was eight. I couldn't leave it out!)

14. Island in the Sun by Weezer (dup. dup.)

15. The Other Side of Summer by Elvis Costello (not the only Elvis hogging the spotlight)

16. In The Sun by Blondie (A less played alternative to "The Tide Is High". It's still poppish but with alt. highlights, i think)


Satisfied? Good. I have to go study but more later.
