Dusk and Summer

Guess what I did today? No seriously, guess! I went into the city and caught this decade's greatest modern-emo-rock band, Dashbaord Confessional on the Today Show. Guess what else I did? Met CHRIS CARRABO, frontman-singer-songwriter of the band!! He was so so nice, and did a fabulous set with the songs "Vindicated" (my favorite), "Stolen", and "Hands Down". The whole band was really cool and very down to Earth, exactly the opposite of what you would expect from a chart topping rock band with a sold out tour. I was front row (v.i.p. v.i.p. hurray) and I was literally blown off my feet by the volume. It. Was. So. Cool (Thank you thank you so so much to the people who got me there, you know who you are and you're fabulous). So, as a gift to you my devoted readers, I have provided you with a few exclusive photos from the concert (I got such good shots, I'm so proud of myself). And if you've never heard of Dashboard Confessional, log off this blog and on to Itunes, quick!
I'm very excited about the future, right now some very choice events are coming up and changes are being made, of the good variety. I'm happy.
In regard to other matters, I have would like to address a question I've been getting a lot of inquiries, email, and grief about.
Q. What is a "rose on a thorn"?
A. A lot of people have asked me this and have come up with multiple crazy theories and some not so crazy ones, such as "It's some kind of quote, right?" or "Wait, isn't that in a U2 song?". The answer to those are part of one and yes. In the song "Bullet The Blue Sky" off of U2's Joshua Tree, it says "his face red as a rose on a thorn bush" which I thought was really cool but didn't hear about until after naming the site. It's common knowledge that people always think that a thorn taints a rose's beauty, and takes away from the ellegance, when I think that instead of looking at how the thorn ruins the rose, people should think in terms of how the rose beautifies the thorn. The glass is half full, you know?
Perhaps I was inspired to write that stream of optimism by Beck's cheery tune, "Loser" blasting in my head (ha ha no.) Ironic how these things come out, huh?
Must go but more later. I'm getting a muffin.
-Kit
P.S. This place in town makes these superb carrot-apple-cinnamon muffins. I sware I have never been so excited about a muffin before but these make a certain coffee-giant-hot-spot(which will remain nameless)'s muffins look like month old bagels. Yuck.
